Pat Sajak announced earlier this month that after hosting Wheel of Fortune for 41 seasons, it was time to move on.
Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)

Following his announcement, there was speculation that Vanna White would also leave the show, and Sajak's daughter, Maggie, would take over that role. She previously filled in as letter-turner when her father missed shows after undergoing surgery. White served as host for those episodes.
White, 66, has been a fixture on the show since 1982. She said she has no intentions of stepping down, but is asking for a pay raise, something she reportedly hasn't had in 18 years. It recently became public that Sajak is making five times more money.
Seacrest, 48, currently hosts his own syndicated radio show and recently stepped down as co-host of the morning talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan. At the time, a specific reason for leaving the talk show wasn't made public.
