Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani criticized the current Democratic nominee for mayor, Zohran Mamdani, for his policies, predicting he would “destroy New York City.”
Mamdani won the nomination earlier this week as a socialist candidate. Some of his campaign promises are to boycott, divest from, and sanction Israel, freeze rent, stop cooperation with immigration enforcement, and provide free child care. Giuliani, a Republican who won a second term as mayor, reacted Monday to Mamdani’s nomination on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

“Do I see him as an enemy of America?” said Giuliani, repeating host Piers Morgan’s question. “You’re damn right I do. I think he’s gonna destroy New York City, and I think this is a disaster time for New York City.”
“This guy becomes mayor, this city is gone. People are leaving the city already. You can’t say things like the things he’s saying and not frighten the hell out of people. I mean, it has nothing to do with even 9/11. Had 9/11 not happened, he’d be an enemy of the city,” Giuliani said.
Giuliani stood by his comments that Mamdani should be “investigated,” but he clarified that New Yorkers “should do the investigation as voters.”
