


Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) became the ire of X users as he shared videos of the ongoing protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Portland, Oregon, during the day.
“Today Oregon’s message to Donald Trump was loud and clear: stay out,” Wyden wrote on X late Sunday under a video compilation of protesters gathered at a park during the day.

However, a White House official noted to the Washington Examiner that protestors had been “congregating” outside an ICE field office in South Portland since June. Earlier this month, the official said, “antifa militants outside of the facility rolled out a guillotine,” in a threatening gesture.
President Donald Trump ordered the National Guard to Portland due to the heightened presence of protesters against ICE. However, Gov. Tina Kotek (D-OR) and Portland Mayor Keith Wilson denied there was a need for additional law enforcement.
Users online pulled more footage from the protests after the sun went down to dispute Wyden’s post, capturing only peaceful protesters.
“[E]vidently Mr. Wyden has been paid to look the other way or he is just completely brainwashed to terrorism!” one user wrote under a post of various fires burning in the streets of Portland.
“Wyden doesn’t even live in Oregon. Who’s state?” Oregon Rep. Dwayne Yunker (R) wrote on X.
“Again- this senator continues to post daytime highlight reels and is willingly gaslighting the public on what has been happening at night for some time now,” Washington Examiner Senior Writer Joe Concha wrote.

“This is propaganda,” another user wrote.
The Washington Examiner has reached out to Wyden’s office for comment.
