Podcast host Joe Rogan and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) battled over President Donald Trump’s beef with multiple news outlets that he has accused of not providing accurate information to Americans.

Sanders, in particular, took issue with Trump’s feud with CBS News’s 60 Minutes, after the show was accused of editing an interview it conducted with former Vice President Kamala Harris prior to the 2024 election. Rogan asked the senator if there was any “real issue” with an outlet editing an answer that a candidate gave to a question, to which Sanders said “no,” later saying that 60 Minutes is not “infallible” while still having “a sterling reputation for investigative journalism.”

Sanders added that Trump suing television networks “has the impact of intimidating media,” suggesting that Rogan could be sued by someone with a “big law firm” and cause the podcast host to avoid discussing certain topics, prompting disagreement from Rogan.

“No, but it’s not that, it’s editing things, deceptive editing,” Rogan said on The Joe Rogan Experience. “So, in deceptive editing, you give a different perception of who this candidate is than reality. But that’s not objective journalism; that’s campaigning for that person. Would you agree with that?”

Sanders said he did not have “those details” and was unsure if he agreed with Rogan’s analysis. He then pointed to Trump’s feud with ABC News, claiming that anchor George Stephanopoulos made a statement Trump “didn’t like.”

Sanders was referring to Stephanopoulos claiming in March 2024 that Trump had been been found liable for rape, when in actuality the president was convicted of being liable for sexual abuse in his legal case against E. Jean Carroll. Rogan corrected Sanders, stating he thought Stephanopoulos had been saying something “factually incorrect” about one of Trump’s trials.

TERRY MORAN CLAIMS JOURNALISTS ARE ‘NOT TO BE OBJECTIVE’

However, Rogan and Sanders agreed that there are concerns regarding Trump’s pursuit of impeaching judges who rule against the administration. The podcast host took issue with media outlets that portray themselves as “objective” and make “defamatory” statements, questioning if there was any other course than to pursue legal action against these outlets.

Trump renewed his beef with media outlets on Tuesday, claiming that “FAKE NEWS CNN” and the “FAILING” New York Times were attempting to “DEMEAN” the administration’s military strikes against Iran’s nuclear sites. He contended that the strikes were the “MOST SUCCESSFUL” in history, and that both media outlets are getting “SLAMMED BY THE PUBLIC!”
