The Republican National Committee denied accusations that it has run into financial problems, touting its "battle-tested infrastructure" ahead of 2024.

On Monday, the Washington Post reported that members of the Republican Party, advisers to former President Donald Trump, and other operatives involved in the 2024 election effort were becoming anxious about alleged financial mismanagement from the RNC. The RNC denied the accusations, instead boasting about its efforts to shore up the party's chances in 2024.

HOUSE INCUMBENTS STEPPING DOWN TO RUN FOR STATE OR HIGHER OFFICE IN 2024

“Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and the entire Republican National Committee is laser focused on beating Biden next fall," an RNC spokesperson said in a statement. "The RNC has already staffed up in 15 states, filed over 70 election integrity lawsuits, launched Bank Your Vote, established a permanent Election Integrity department, and continues to hold Joe Biden’s feet to the fire. The RNC will continue to communicate with all campaigns and candidates as we look forward to putting our battle-tested infrastructure behind our Presidential nominee.”

RNC members voiced their frustrations with the RNC leadership to the Washington Post, with Tennessee member Oscar Brock saying that the organization has a "revenue problem."

“We’re going through the same efforts we always go through to raise money: the same donor meetings, retreats, digital advertising, direct mail. But the return is much lower this year," Brock said. "If you know the answer, I’d love to know it. The staff has managed to tighten down on expenses to keep the party from going into the red.”

However, others familiar with the matter disputed the accusations, pointing to figures showing the RNC outperforming in many ways. People familiar with the matter told the Washington Examiner that the RNC outraised the Democratic National Committee in February, March, May, and August, despite the DNC having the advantage of an incumbent president. In the months it didn't outraise the DNC, the RNC was neck and neck with it.

The RNC also has more cash on hand than the DNC did at this point in the election cycle in both 2016 and 2020.

Even with an incumbent president, when adding the transfers, the DNC is barely outraising the RNC cycle-to-date. In fact, the RNC outraised the DNC in February, March, May, and August of this year. Excluding transfers, the RNC outraises every other committee, outside of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, by $10 million.
