Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) issued a travel warning to socialists or communists headed to Florida.
"If you're a socialist, communist, somebody that believes in big government, I would think twice," Scott said in a video message posted to Twitter. "Think twice if you're thinking about taking a vacation or moving to Florida."

Under Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Florida has been fighting "woke" ideology, and Scott reiterated the notion that "Florida is where 'woke' goes to die!"

"We're the free state of Florida," he said. "We actually don't believe in socialism. ... Some people in our state lived under it."

"It's not good. It's not good for anybody. So if you're thinking about it, if you're thinking about coming to Florida, and you're a socialist or communist, think twice. We like freedom, liberty, capitalism, things like that."
Scott is up for reelection for his Senate seat in 2024 after announcing he would run despite rumors he would be seeking the presidency.
