As one of the first-announced Republican candidates seeking the presidency in 2024, Nikki Haley is looking for ways to set herself apart from the competition.
The former ambassador to the United Nations and former governor of South Carolina is hoping to gain the support of voters in early primary states by selling herself to them individually. Her early campaigning has shown an emphasis on attending local events in integral primary states.

In a statement to the Washington Examiner, Haley spokesman Ken Farnaso said, “Nikki Haley is spending as much time as possible in the early primary states talking to Americans, taking their questions, and earning their votes."
"We’ve already held 19 events in Iowa and New Hampshire and will be doing another rally in South Carolina tonight," he explained. "Nikki doesn’t take any vote for granted and knows that the only way to win is to show up."
Haley's Thursday evening rally will take place in Lexington County in South Carolina. It will begin at 6 p.m.
Following the rally in her home state, she will be headed to northwest Iowa, where she will campaign alongside Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-IA).
Earlier this week, the 2024 candidate took a trip to the southern border, where she laid out her plan to secure the border as president.
"When it comes to actual immigration laws itself, instead of doing quotas every year on how many we're going to let in, you partner with your businesses and see what they need. And when you do that, all of a sudden, you're looking for merit, and you're working for the economy in South Carolina," she said at a press conference in Texas.

Her campaign further revealed Haley's staggering fundraising haul this week, announcing that the candidate has garnered $11 million since launching her campaign on Feb. 15. Her campaign made a point of noting that 67,000 of the donations were from those who contributed $200 or less.
However, recent polling shows that only 4% would support Haley in a 2024 Republican primary. This is a stark contrast to former President Donald Trump's 55%, per Morning Consult.

Haley is also bested by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who received 26%, and former Vice President Mike Pence, who received 7%. Neither of the two has announced campaigns.
Notably, in early 2015, prior to Trump's 2016 election, the front-runners in a hypothetical GOP primary were former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). Trump did not announce his candidacy until that summer.
