Congressional Republicans are planning a massive ad campaign taking aim at vulnerable Democrats amid pro-Palestinian protests that have taken hold of universities across the country.

The Republican House and Senate fundraising arms will focus the ads on the alleged inability of Democrats to respond to the protests properly, Axios reported. A House Republican strategist told the outlet that the ads will feature protest footage and claim that Democrats “cower to the whims of dangerous antisemites in their party.”

On Wednesday, ads focusing on antisemitism and the protests from the National Senatorial Campaign Committee will reportedly target Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Bob Casey (D-PA), and Jon Tester (D-MT), as well as Michigan Senate candidate Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).

Another part of the offensive will be an effort to block the students protesting from receiving student loan forgiveness. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is reportedly preparing the bill.

NRSC spokesman Tate Mitchell said Democrats “think hardworking taxpayers should cover pro-Hamas students’ tuition.”

Meanwhile, tensions at several universities’ pro-Palestinian protests have risen. At Columbia University, a group of student protesters broke into, vandalized, and occupied Hamilton Hall. The university announced the expulsion of the students if they didn’t vacate the premises.

Similar actions happened at New Mexico University.
