Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) challenged a union boss to a cage fight after the latter criticized the former on social media.
Mullin, a former mixed martial arts fighter and 2016 inductee to the Oklahoma Wrestling Hall of Fame, extended the challenge to International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien on Monday. The senator told Fox News Digital that he was merely accepting O'Brien's invitation to fight, which he appeared to extend in a post on Twitter.

"Greedy CEO who pretends like he’s self made," O'Brien tweeted last week, with a picture of Mullin. "In reality, just a clown & fraud. Always has been, always will be. Quite the tough guy act in these senate hearings. You know where to find me. Anyplace, Anytime cowboy. #LittleManSyndrome."

Mullin said he is intent on going through with O'Brien's apparent invitation.
"Simple: He said ‘anyplace, anytime,’ so we accepted, September 30th in Tulsa, Oklahoma," Mullin said.
"Too often, these big bully union bosses try to intimidate individuals and never get called out on it," he continued. "I refuse to tolerate loudmouth bullies like O’Brien who got suspended over threats to his own union members, thinks unions ought to be ‘militant organizations,’ and vilifies right-to-work states like Oklahoma — all while calling for fights on social media."
Mullin first made his intentions known on Twitter in a tweet responding to a screenshot of O'Brien's first invitation.
"An attention-seeking union Teamster boss is trying to be punchy after our Senate hearing. Okay, I accept your challenge. MMA fight for charity of our choice. Sept 30th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’ll give you 3 days to accept," Mullin tweeted.

"Mullin has remained active in the wrestling community since his retirement from the sport, continuing to coach his children and other young athletes in wrestling tournaments across the country on weekends through today," his Senate biography reads.
The challenge is the latest in a series of high-profile figures challenging each other to physical fights in a professional setting. Recently, Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg agreed to a cage fight against each other.
