Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wasn't pleased with the concluding question presented to him, which related to unidentified flying objects.

During Fox News's first Republican presidential primary debate, the moderators undertook a lightning round of questions before closing remarks on topics ranging from faith to education. Christie got a very different question; it concerned the recent spike in UFO sightings, to which he jokingly made his displeasure known.

“I get the UFO question?” Christie replied when moderator Martha MacCallum mentioned UFOs in the introduction of her question.

Nevertheless, MacCallum continued through laughs.

“We’ve been hearing a lot of testimony in Congress, and people are taking this a lot more seriously. If you were president ... would you level with the American people about what the government knows about these possible encounters?” she asked.

“I think it's horrible that just [because] I’m from New Jersey, you asked me about unidentified flying objects and Martians,” Christie responded while laughing.

Despite his displeasure over the question, the former New Jersey governor went on to give an answer.

“The job of the president of the United States is to level with the American people about everything. The job of the president of the United States is to stand for truth, the job of the president of the United States is to be a role model for our children and our grandchildren,” he said before redirecting his answer toward the issue of education.

Other commentators agreed with Christie's displeasure over the question.

"This is a dumb subject for a presidential debate (ufos)," journalist Megyn Kelly posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
