Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) won the Republican primary for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District on Tuesday night. It was a resounding victory for the GOP firebrand, especially after numerous reports that her reelection was not a sure thing and she faced a tough primary. Ultimately, she received more votes than the next three closest candidates — combined.
Boebert, the representative from Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, will be the Republican nominee for the state’s 4th District in November. She will be vying for the seat previously held by former Rep. Ken Buck, who retired earlier this year. She is widely expected to win his seat as the district is regarded as a Republican stronghold. Boebert almost had as many votes in the primary as each of the candidates in the Democratic primary combined.
Colorado’s Republican voters have made one thing very clear: They really like Boebert.
In the last three elections, she’s earned the majority of their support each time. They could have voted for any other candidate but instead chose her. Perhaps then, it is time that some Republicans realize this and stop trying to sabotage her. Work with her, not against her. It will benefit Republicans everywhere.
After all, objectively speaking, Boebert has been a strong, outspoken, and fearless voice for conservative Republican values in Congress. She doesn’t shy away from a challenge or a fight. She stands tall on her principles. Objectively, her political platform is everything any conservative or Republican could want from a congresswoman. And, given Republicans’ slim majority in the House, Boebert’s voice and votes are essential to advancing Republican political agendas.
Because of her beliefs, her style has been criticized by people on both sides of the political aisle. From Democrats, it’s to be expected. Boebert rejects many of the neo-Marxist and radical ideologies that they support. The friendly fire from Republicans, however, is troubling. Inexplicably, some in the GOP prefer their politicians to be docile and not vociferously reject left-wing political attacks. For some reason, they prefer Republicans who smile and nod at left-wing political aggression and attacks. They do not want fighters. They want politicians who keep the status quo and do it in a so-called “classy” way.
Yet, this is the very behavior of which Republican voters have grown weary. In recent years, they have revolted against the “old guard” at the ballot box. They want candidates who will fight for their values. Boebert is confident, strong, and outspoken. She doesn’t let Democrats get away with inflammatory attacks on Republicans — she defends her ideals and beliefs. Metaphorically and politically speaking, she is a brawler, and, like it or not, the party needs brawlers.
For example, contrast Boebert with the politician she is essentially replacing: Buck. At a time when the Biden administration was complicit in allowing a record number of illegal immigrants to enter the country, Buck could have taken action. Instead, he worried more about settling political scores with former Rep. George Santos. As innocent women such as Laken Riley were being murdered, allegedly by illegal immigrants, Buck chose to focus on expelling Santos instead of impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Mayorkas, mind you, was the very Biden administration official who repeatedly lied to people in the country for years with false claims of border security.
Conversely, Boebert was one of the pioneers seeking to hold Mayorkas accountable for his dishonesty and incompetence. It’s just one of the many examples as to why Boebert has favor with so many Republican voters in Colorado. And, ignoring the noise of critics who, for all intents and purposes, would seemingly prefer their Republican politicians timid and meek, she’s been quite effective in advancing GOP platforms. Objectively speaking, the good with Boebert far outweighs any perceived bad.
Many were hoping Boebert would lose her primary. They advanced narratives that her political career was facing impending doom. However, as the saying goes, reports of her demise were greatly exaggerated. Now that she has proved her resilience and grit, it’s time to stop trying to sabotage her and start working with her to be successful.

Throughout the country, Republican voters have repeatedly shown for close to a decade now that they are tired of tepid politicians. They do not want a return to the days of electing Republicans who speak softly and, metaphorically, carry a small stick. They want someone with courage, charisma, and boldness.
Boebert has once again proven victorious. Colorado Republicans have spoken — it’s time to listen to them.
