Rep. Rob Menendez (D-NJ) duplicated a viral video mocking Republicans amid the government shutdown.

Menendez posted a video Tuesday following a similar style to the New Berlin Public Library in Wisconsin. In their original video, one of their employees leaned back for a trust fall, with another employee stepping aside to let the first one fall instead of catching her. Menendez followed suit, standing behind a staffer as he fell, but stepping aside to let him fall on the couch instead.

“You can’t trust everyone, and definitely not House Republicans. But you can trust Democrats to hold the line, to fight for your healthcare, and to make life more affordable for all Americans,” Menendez says in the video.

REPUBLICANS ARE PUSHING THESE FIVE DEMOCRATS TO FLIP ON FUNDING BILL

Thursday is the ninth day of the government shutdown after the Senate failed to pass a bill to fund the government. Democrats have refused to pass the bill until they are guaranteed the premium tax credits initially drafted under the Affordable Care Act that were enhanced under the Biden administration amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan passed the House but has yet to pass the Senate’s 60-vote threshold.

“No staffer was harmed in the making of this video. Also, the couch is OK because JD Vance has never visited our office,” Menendez wrote.
