Traffic has been backed up at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., on a busy travel week ahead of the holidays.
In response to the crowds Monday, DCA released a statement on social media urging passengers to utilize public transportation or express drop-off lanes to mitigate traffic concerns.

According to social media users, some travelers have exited their cars and walked up to the terminal. Lines for security also appear to be very long.
One ABC 7 reporter caught a large traffic backup while riding the Metro.
