Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) slammed congressional lawmakers who support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom she called a war criminal.
Tlaib, a vocal critic of Netanyahu and Israel amid the country's conflict with the terrorist group Hamas, shared a report on social media that claimed Netanyahu has endorsed removing all Palestinians from Gaza. The Michigan lawmaker called the Israeli prime minister a "genocidal maniac" while denouncing lawmakers who have voiced their support for him.

"Genocidal maniac," Tlaib wrote in an Instagram story. "Every member of Congress who sits down with this murderer is supporting a war criminal. We will never ever forget."
The Michigan congresswoman has criticized Israel and Netanyahu since the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7, while also criticizing President Joe Biden for his support for Israel. Ahead of his 2024 campaign for a second term in the White House, Tlaib said there are a "number of issues" she has with the president, withholding her support for his reelection.
The House of Representatives censured Tlaib last month for “promoting false narratives” about the Oct. 7 attack against Israel, with 22 Democrats joining almost all of the Republican lawmakers in censuring her. She and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) received pushback online after attempting to commemorate Hanukkah earlier this month.

Amid Israel's war with Hamas, Biden said on Dec. 12 that the United States would continue to support the Jewish state in its efforts to remove the terrorist group from Gaza. However, he warned Netanyahu about waning public support for Israel's bombing campaigns and suggested that the prime minister needed to change due to Israel's public image around the world.
"[Netanyahu]'s got a tough decision to make," Biden said. "This is the most conservative government in Israel's history."
