When tech executive Bob Lee was found stabbed to death in San Francisco’s upscale Rincon Hill neighborhood early on April 4, many people, including Twitter’s own Elon Musk, immediately blamed San Francisco’s famously lax criminal justice system for letting a violent criminal back on the street.

“Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately,” Musk tweeted. But it turns out that Lee was not killed by a random repeat offender.

THE FBI'S INTEGRITY HAS BEEN FATALLY COMPROMISED

Rather than progressive criminal justice policies ending Lee’s life, it appears that it was his progressive lifestyle that did him in.

Raised in the Midwest, Lee moved to California to work for Google before moving to a company named Square, which developed CashApp, a Venmo competitor. Along the way, Lee invested in other startup companies that have since landed big paydays. A reported multimillionaire, Lee was working for a cryptocurrency company named MobileCoin when he died.

At some point, Lee married and had two children, but the married life was not good enough for him. Instead, Lee enjoyed San Francisco’s underground party scene, where he slept with many women and did many drugs, including the generous amounts of cocaine and ketamine that were in his body when he was found dead.

Hours before he died, Lee reportedly met his sometimes-girlfriend Khazar Momeni at the luxury condominium of Jeremy Boivin, a mutual friend who had been charged with drugging and sexually assaulting someone years earlier.

Momeni was, and is, married to a prominent San Francisco plastic surgeon named Dino Elyassnia, whose Instagram page features images of successful nose jobs and face-lifts. But it wasn’t Dino who killed Lee.

Witnesses saw Lee arguing with Khazar’s brother, Nima Momeni, after the party at Boivin’s condo, and security footage showed all three of them, Khazar, Nima, and Bob, meeting at Khazar’s apartment later that night. It is alleged that after peacefully leaving Khazar’s home, Nima drove Lee to Rincon Hill, where he then stabbed him repeatedly with a 4-inch kitchen knife.

“Bob was the dumbest smart person I knew,” Dana Wagner, a former coworker of Lee, told the Wall Street Journal.

Sounds like San Francisco is chock full of dumb smart people these days.
