NextImg:Pride camp counsels children the wrong way - Washington Examiner

We used to want children just to be children, but liberal activists now aim to introduce children as young as five years old to themes of sexuality at summer camp.

At New York’s New Country Pride Camp, which hosts “LGBTQ kids” and the children of LGBT-identifying adults, they swim and rock climb, but also participate in explicitly “pride-themed” activities focused on “inclusivity” and “self-expression,” according to an NBC news report

It’s common to have camps for those with similar interests: art, dance, science. There are also camps for those with similar struggles: camps for those with disabilities or children overcoming grief. The former is fun to bond over, and the latter is necessary for connection to common struggles.

Pride Camp, however, unnecessarily zeroes in on the sexuality of preteens and their parents, pushing an agenda of queer theory and confusion. If that’s not grooming children for a certain outcome, I’m not sure what is.

Given what “Pride” has become in society, an all-out celebration of debauchery and transgender ideology, it’s hard to believe those running Pride Camp are disconnected from such evolutions. Children are children, not LGBT talking points, and Pride Camp is more indoctrination into a sexuality-obsessed rainbow cult.

No doubt, campers are told gender is both fluid and chosen, which completely disrupts a child’s natural understanding of men and women. This may lead them toward gender confusion, which could ultimately have lifelong consequences.

This obsession with gender identity is why some have started groups such as LBG Alliance, and #LBGwithouttheT is trending on X. The consequences of transgender brainwashing would likely cause even gay parents to reject Pride Camp.

And though camp organizers claim “inclusivity,” the result of that effort is separation based on sexuality and gender. The schedule includes talks from “successful and passionate LGBTQ+ folks” to showcase “the many ways in which an LGBTQ+ identity can be expressed in society, work, and family.”

What does one’s sexuality have to do with his or her profession or societal structure? To be clear, Pride means one thing: celebrating one’s sexual preferences.

Like Pride parades, sexually explicit books, and drag queen brunches, this camp is not appropriate for minors. The last thing prepubescent children should be focused on is sexuality: their own, their parents’, and certainly not of adults they barely know.

While most teens don’t identify as LGBT, the growing number showcases how social conditioning affects our youth. The camp is run and staffed by LGBT adults, who may disproportionately influence children toward gender and sexual confusion based on their own life experiences.

As one camp director told NBC News, “trans kids” at camp often voice fears that middle school classmates won’t use their preferred pronouns. Rather than working with children to cure gender confusion or dysphoria, Pride Camp furthers the delusion that one can alter biological reality.

Camp Director Lonnie Ginsberg said the camp was designed to help children focus on “just being a kid.” However, it’s actually hyper-focused on adult matters of sexual preference. Again, this is not a camp for teenagers, but those as young as five.

“These kids maybe have a better shot at figuring out who they are in the world,” said Ginsbgerg, who is gay.

But this statement, too, alludes to the idea that children should be considering sexual identities at younger ages, as if “who they are” is LGBT and not simply children.

When seeking more information about these camps, search results about the harms of “conversion therapy” appear on Google. It’s notable that search engines would pair “pride camp” with this practice.

Maybe it’s because Pride Camp is its own form of conversion therapy, counseling children toward an unnatural understanding of themselves, teaching them that sexuality and gender are the highest markers of identity.

The NBC hit highlights the “joy and connection of being in the queer community.” This kind of phrasing elevates the importance of a sexuality-based identity, drawing even first graders toward a cult of queer theory.

And it’s clear those with an agenda are making a deep impression on our nation’s children already. Studies show only 3.5% of the global adult population is gay, and 0.03% are transgender. So why do 25% of American teenagers identify as LGBT? Could it be that these numbers reflect messages coming out of the activist movement?

Children should be actually free to engage in childhood without the oppressing confusion that gender and sexuality activists put on them in places such as Pride Camp.
