After clarifying that their holiday meals were largely Italian, the Bidens were asked about what they wanted to reflect on for 2023 and what they hoped for in 2024.

“One of the big highlights stands out for me is – my dad used to have an expression. He’d say, ‘Joey, a job is about a lot more than a paycheck. It’s about your dignity, it’s about respect,” Joe Biden said.

He then alluded to factory jobs being shipped overseas and that hurting people in the center of the country.

“They’re back,” Joe Biden said. The president then mentioned the 14 million jobs that have been created since he took office.

Regarding wishes for the new year, Biden said he wants people to “understand” the current strength of the United States.

“My hope is that everybody has a healthy, happy, and safe new year. But beyond that, I hope that they understand that we’re in a better position than any country in the world to lead the world. And we’re coming back and it’s about time,” the president said.
