The books will be given away at concerts that Pink, whose real name is Alecia Hart, is hosting in Southern Florida. The giveaways are meant to bring attention to legislative actions being taken across the United States against some books, according to PEN America.

Restricting books in the U.S. has become a topic of focus for Republican lawmakers, as many have argued that some books should not be accessible to children in schools and libraries. One of the most discussed books is Maia Kobabe's Gender Queer, which features graphic and sexually explicit depictions of gay sex and was read aloud by Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) in Congress in September.
On social media, Pink listed multiple she said had been banned from schools in Florida and asked social media users to let her know "which book is pornography." Among the books she listed were To Kill A Mockingbird, The Hate You Give, and The Fault In Our Stars.

Pink's inclusion of To Kill A Mockingbird is odd, as it has not been banned in Florida. Jeremy Redfern, a spokesman for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), poked fun at Pink's post on social media, stating that she was mixing up Florida with California and that To Kill A Mockingbird is "on Florida’s BEST standards list."
Someone confused Florida for California.

Pink has been vocal about her views on social matters. Last year, she spoke out against the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. She asked on social media that anyone in support of the court's decision to "NEVER F***ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN."
