An event in Philadelphia on Saturday apparently set the “world record” for the largest drag queen story hour. A total of 268 people were in attendance, and an official from Guinness World Records documented it. However, people should raise concerns and red flags instead of celebrating such an event.
Having children exposed to scantily clad men dressed as women reading stories to children is, in a word, abnormal. In a second word, it is disturbing. Just as no one would want exotic dancers or provocatively dressed women (or men, for that matter) in front of children, no one should want drag queens, either. In any other instance, the idea of a sexualized adult reading stories to children would never be deemed acceptable. Yet, such dangerously risque material gets a pass solely because the LGBT community favors it.
As Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) once said about drag queen story hours, “These inappropriate events are extremely divisive at home for good reason; in all cases, they place young children in close proximity with adults who are intentionally and explicitly sexualized.”
Rubio was correct, but this raises the question of why such inappropriate events such as drag queen story hour continue to happen. I hypothesize that these story hours have an ulterior motive: to shape young children’s minds and help mold future generations’ beliefs.
These story hours are little more than propaganda disguised as children-friendly events. Consider the event invite that was circulated last week.
“Join the Philadelphia Gay News as we attempt to host the world’s largest drag storytime,” the Eventbrite link read. “Kids and kids at heart will enjoy stories read by Philly’s most famous queens.”
Furthermore, the description of the event is alarming. Consider the event’s guidelines.
“This is a private event,” the invite read. “All members of your party must be registered in order to attend. This includes names of children.” It also specified that the invitation was “not to be shared on social media.” That is a lot of secrecy for an event advertised as geared toward “kids.”
There is a reason why children were specified here for a kind of entertainment (drag queens) that, until recently, was solely geared toward adults. These are indoctrination sessions that target the youngest and most vulnerable minds. The objective is to normalize what long was seen as a societal perversion, drag queens, to manipulate young people into thinking drag is normal. When political propaganda is dressed up in rainbow colors and contains shiny objects, it becomes an effective tool for brainwashing, particularly for young children.
Despite the event setting a record, many in the city were not happy with it. Lisa Reynolds, a political consultant from the city and a single mother, was not too pleased with the news of the event.

“Drag events are inherently sexual even without some of the lewd and inappropriate displays we have seen from these events in the past,” Reynolds said. “Most sane adults know and understand that drag culture is a huge part of the LGBT community. The reason men dress as women in the first place is because it is an outward expression of their sexuality. So, a logical question to ask is why they feel the need to expose children to their sexual proclivities. Any answer that could possibly be given is unacceptable.”
“This is an absolute disgrace and a stain on the city of Philadelphia,” Reynolds told me. “Our founders would be rolling over in their graves if they saw men dressed as women reading to kids just feet from where they created the framework of our nation.”
