


Former Vice President Mike Pence released a video early Wednesday morning officially declaring that he is running for president in 2024.
"I believe in the American people, and I have faith God is not done with America yet. Together, we can bring this Country back, and the best days for the Greatest Nation on Earth are yet to come! #Pence2024," Pence tweeted along with the video.

In the video, the former vice president traced his roots in Indiana, his years as governor of the state and as a congressman, and he took aim at President Joe Biden and the "radical Left," saying they've "weakened America at home and abroad."
On Monday, Pence filed paperwork to run for president next year. His launch is on Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa, also the same day as his 64th birthday.
Pence faces fierce competition in the Republican Party, with former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis among the conservatives vying. for the White House. In order to separate himself from Trump, Pence will have to walk a fine line between praising what he and the former president did in office together and explaining what he can do differently than his former boss.\

The former vice president is also set to hold a town hall with CNN on Wednesday, just days after former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley participated in a town hall with the network.
