Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was hospitalized after she sustained an injury while on a congressional trip in Luxembourg, a spokesperson for the congresswoman said Friday.
Specific details of the injury were not provided, but Pelosi will not participate in the delegation’s remaining events, held to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
“Speaker Emerita Pelosi is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals,” the spokesperson said in a release. “She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history.”

Pelosi’s spokesperson said she was “personally and officially” honored to travel with the delegation, many of whom had family members who fought in World War II, including her uncle.
“She looks forward to returning to the U.S. soon,” Pelosi’s team added.
