Paramount is the latest platform to remove content relating to Russell Brand from its platform amid recent accusations against the podcaster and comedian.
Brand's comedy special, titled Russell Brand in New York City, was reportedly removed from Paramount+ sometime on Tuesday, though it is not explicitly known if the special was removed in response to the new allegations against Brand. The special, released in 2009, was available on the platform until at least Tuesday morning.
OKLAHOMA SUPERINTENDENT SAYS BIDEN WANTS TO TURN STUDENTS INTO 'SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS'
Paramount+ removing the special comes after other platforms have taken down content containing Brand, such as BBC Channel 4, a British television network, removing episodes of television series in which Brand was a guest star. YouTube also blocked Brand from profiting off its platform due to Brand violating its "creator responsibility policy."
Notably, Brand's most recent comedy special from 2018, "Russell Brand Re:Birth," is still available to watch on Netflix.
Additionally, Spotify reportedly announced it would not remove content from its platform featuring Brand, including his podcast Under the Skin with Russell Brand. Spotify's decision stems from how it would only remove content directly in breach of its terms and conditions.
Four women have accused Brand of sexual assault, which was reported by the Times of London, the Sunday Times, and Channel 4, a British television network. Police in the United Kingdom stated they will investigate the allegations.
