It was easy to see coming, but that doesn’t make it any less disorienting or obscene.
On TikTok this week, thousands of videos began to circulate of social justice warrior-type college students , replete with piercings, Kool-Aid colored hair, and the faint whiff of wealth, making the case that Osama bin Laden was in the right all along.
VIOLENT DNC PROTEST AGAINST ISRAEL BIRTHED BY LEFT-WING DARK MONEY MACHINEAfter reading his 2002 “Letter to America,” which blames the United States for the terrorist attacks it suffered on 9/11, particularly due to its support for Israel, these "woke" zombies — I’m sorry, but there’s no use being polite anymore — have become convinced of the righteousness of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and they want everyone to know it.
In bin Laden’s letter, which is laced with foul antisemitic tropes, students found justification for their vile behavior on campus in recent weeks, including their outright celebration of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack by Hamas, their glorification of the Hamas “martyrs,” and their call for the destruction of the state of Israel.
The now-popular slogan “from the river to the sea” was also found in bin Laden’s letter. In normal times, this would cause students to rethink their use of the phrase. But if these videos are any indication, bin Laden’s example appears to provide the kind of moral reinforcement they crave.
“So I just read ‘A Letter to America,’ and I will never look at life the same,” one young woman said in the sing-song, valley girl voice that reeks of the very privilege young social justice warriors such as her claim to hate. “I will never look at this country the same. In the last 20 minutes, my entire viewpoint on the entire life I have believed and have lived has changed.”
“It is literally the craziest thing I’ve read in a while,” a young man said in a subsequent clip. “And while I can’t say that I’m that surprised, I am pretty shocked. In reading the letter, I could only think of this tweet that I saw the other day: ‘Under settler colonialism, any kind of resistance is branded as terrorist because the only acceptable violence is the violence by the occupier.’”
In another, a young woman with a shaved head and a bar pierced through the skin between her eyes said, “Reading this letter, it becomes clear to me that the actions on 9/11 and those acts committed against the USA and its people were all just the buildup of our government failing other nations.”
Another clip shows a young man celebrating the capture of bin Laden in 2011, followed by a clip of him looking sadly at his phone under the caption: “Reading his letter in 2023 and knowing he was right.”
These videos are as disturbing as they are heartbreaking. Indeed, they are the fruits of years of pernicious ideological programming in schools, which instilled in our youth a crude, Manichean moral framework in which only two types of people exist: the oppressors and the oppressed.
This intellectually fraudulent approach to complex problems has rendered students easy marks for maniacs such as the late al Qaeda leader, as well as the endless minions of neo-Marxists roaming the halls of academe who rely on their students’ inability to decipher between radicality and depth to maintain their position and wreak societal havoc.
The extent to which our students’ minds have been reduced to mush by the "woke" revolution is laid bare by this surrender to radical Islam, which is a system of thought that couldn’t run more counter to everything they supposedly stand for.
Despite being preposterous on its face, “Queers for Palestine” is actually perfectly coherent within the framework of intersectional theory: Israelis are classified as “white oppressors” and the Palestinians as “oppressed people of color,” and that’s that. All of reality must bend itself to accommodate this supposed fact, including the execution of gays in Arab nations, the slaughter of 1,400 Israelis, and even the 9/11 attacks. The idiocy of the moral framework gives radical Islamists the cultural cover necessary to operate with impunity.
Imagine their luck! Only a month ago, their forces carried out one of the most unfathomably brutal terrorist attacks in history, and thanks to its zombie army of useful idiots marching through the West, Osama bin Laden, of all people, is enjoying a reputational rehabilitation.
CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINERTragically, we must force ourselves to consider the consequences of this absurd and despicable development. To be sure, this latest bizarre turn is not just a bug of wokeness but the logical next step for a generation that has been taught to reject and hate everything the West and its allies stand for. And that means the greater threat we face as a nation today is not from outside our borders but from within. We must put ourselves on alert for homegrown Islamist-woke terrorists who will look to detonate themselves in crowds in the name of decolonization.
Perhaps then, we will have finally reached the bottom.
