One would think that after an election in which Democrats were thoroughly trounced on the matter of illegal immigration, their party might be looking for an opportunity to show it is capable of delivering law and order. However, that is not the case in Los Angeles, where Mayor Karen Bass, fresh off letting entire neighborhoods burn down through incompetence, is now letting supporters of illegal immigration cause chaos throughout the city.
For the third day in a row Tuesday, thousands of protesters carrying Mexican flags and holding signs with slogans such as “The real criminal is in the White House” and “Brown n Proud” blocked traffic, vandalized buildings, and clashed with police officers. The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles had messages including “Viva La Raza” (which translates to “long live the race”) and “F–k Trump” spray painted on its walls.
The protests began Sunday when activists shut down the 101 freeway around noon and held it until 8 p.m. Police in riot gear were eventually deployed to break up the demonstrators, and law enforcement officers were assaulted with rocks and glass bottles. Despite the lack of a permit for the protest and the violence perpetrated against police, no arrests were made, though some protesters were briefly detained.
Protesters gathered again Monday without any permit and continued to block traffic and vandalize buildings. This time, police were able to position enough personnel on freeway on-ramps to prevent a shutdown of the 101. However, by late evening, the crowd turned violent again, causing police to issue a dispersal order. Again, despite clear violence by protesters against police, none were arrested.
After a second day of injuries to LAPD officers without any arrests allowed, the Los Angeles Police Protective League issued a statement, saying, “When those committing violence against anyone, let alone police officers, are allowed to masquerade as peaceful protesters, it sends the wrong message and crushes officer morale. We hope this incident is investigated with the same vigor as past crowd control incidents were investigated and those that allowed officers to be attacked are held accountable.”
On Tuesday, the protests continued, predominantly led by students walking out of school. The freeway was again spared disruption, but an unlawful assembly was declared at Los Angeles City Hall around 3:30 p.m., and a dispersal order was given. Again, rocks and bottles were thrown at police officers, and again, no arrests for violence against police officers were made. One man was arrested on suspicion of vandalism.
That Democrats such as Bass are so comfortable letting protesters assault police officers for three straight days without a single person being charged in no way justifies President Donald Trump’s pardon for the Jan. 6 rioters. However, it does explain why so many Trump supporters found them to be acceptable.

Protesters carrying vulgar signs, waving foreign flags, blocking traffic, jumping on the cars of innocent commuters, and yelling at them in a foreign language is not the winning message many Democratic activists think it is.
People are sick and tired of illegal immigrants breaking our laws with impunity, waving their foreign flags in our faces, blocking traffic, and generally creating chaos in our communities. If Democrats such as Bass can’t maintain law and order on the streets of Los Angeles, Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will be more than happy to deport the troublemakers.
