President Joe Biden gave the first indication Thursday that he will visit East Palestine, Ohio, the site of February's toxic train derailment.
Though Biden has deployed resources from multiple federal agencies to impacted counties in Ohio and Pennsylvania, the White House has repeatedly declined to state if the president has expressed any desire to visit Ohio himself.

Biden briefly addressed the issue shortly after attending Senate Democrats' weekly lunch on Thursday.
"I have spoken with every official in Ohio, Democrat and Republican, on a continuous basis," he told reporters when asked about a potential visit. "We will be implementing an awful lot through the legislation here, and I will be out there at some point."
Reporters proceeded to ask White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for clarification on Biden's remarks, but she again declined to preview a visit.
"I don't have any trips to preview for you at this time. The president also, if I'm remembering correctly, moments ago, he also talked about how essentially this has been a priority," she responded. "He's talked to governors, the governor of Pennsylvania and governor of Ohio, the senators at multiple times throughout these past couple of weeks."
"As you know, when the derailment happened on February 3, within hours, we had folks on the ground from the EPA, making sure that we were dealing with this chemical spill, and since then, we have had a multi agency reaction to this and operation on the ground, making sure that the community and the response team was getting what they needed to get back on their feet and to make them whole."
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Environmental Protection Agency administrator Michael Regan, and Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator Deanne Criswell have been the highest-ranking Biden officials to visit East Palestine, but former President Donald Trump visited the region on February 22.
Trump won Columbiana County, where East Palestine is located, with more than 70% of the vote in the 2020 general election, and, while on the ground, he heartily attacked Biden for traveling to Ukraine and Poland before visiting the East Palestine community.
