Office Depot fired an employee on Friday, after a video went viral on social media showing a worker refusing to print photos of Charlie Kirk for a vigil in his honor. 

Kirk, the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on Wednesday while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. On Friday, authorities announced they arrested Tyler Robinson for allegedly assassinating the conservative activist.

In the viral Office Depot video, which has amassed over four million views as of Saturday morning, a customer asks to print a poster of Kirk for a vigil honoring him on Friday evening.

The employee seen in the video said they were the manager on duty and refused to print the poster because of its political nature. 

“Yeah, so, we don’t print propaganda,” the store manager said in the video. “It’s propaganda. I’m sorry. We don’t print that here.”

The office supply retailer said in a statement on X that it is “deeply concerned by the incident” that happened at Store 3382. 

“The behavior displayed by our associate is completely unacceptable and insensitive, violates our company policies, and does not reflect the values we hold at Office Depot,” the statement said. “We sincerely apologize to the customer affected and to our community for this regrettable situation.” 

The statement continues that upon learning about the incident, the company contacted the customer to “address their concerns” and “fulfill their order.” 

The office supply retailer also said it launched an internal review and, as a result, the associate is “no longer with the organization.” 

Matthew DePerno, an attorney and Republican Activist, said on X that when Office Depot refused to print it, they went to their local FedEx, which completed the order free of charge and apologized. 

The video got the attention of Michigan lawmakers, including State Senator Aric Nesbitt and Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga, who condemned the video.

“It is absolutely shameful that @OfficeDepot in Portage refused to print this poster for the vigil tonight at Bronson Park in Kalamazoo,” Huizenga said on X. “These individuals paid for the work to be done and the employees appear to have refused to do it because it was in memory of Charlie Kirk.”

Nesbitt said on X that the video was “despicable” and called for the employees to be fired “immediately.”
