October Supplemental Security Income payments, worth up to $967, will be issued to recipients in 10 days on Oct. 1.
Most SSI payments are issued on the first of every month, including October. The following November payment, however, will be issued on Oct. 31, since Nov. 1 falls on a weekend this year.

Beneficiaries are individuals with limited income who are either blind, aged 65 and older, or have a qualifying disability.
The amount recipients receive varies based on several factors, including the number of people filing. Individuals, for instance, can receive up to $967; couples filing together can receive $1,450, and essential people providing necessary care to SSI recipients can receive up to $484.
January SSI payments increased by 2.5% to keep pace with inflation.
In addition to the previous prerequisites to receive SSI payments, recipients must also be U.S. citizens or noncitizens in one of the alien classifications granted by the Department of Homeland Security.

Additionally, they must live in one of the 50 states, Washington D.C., or the Northern Mariana Islands, and must not be absent from the U.S. for a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days.
