Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) announced Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and will be missing votes in the Senate this week.

Tillis said on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday morning that he would not be able to host the "Bipawtisan Howl-o-ween Dog Parade" due to his diagnosis and suggested that Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) take his place for the festive dog event.

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show a 0.7% decline in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases for the week of Oct. 15-21, with a nearly 9% positivity rate.
