Does Whoopi Goldberg know anything about history?
It’s a question to ask on most days that Goldberg comments on The View. Yet, after her statements last week about Republicans and slavery, it’s enough to make one wonder whether she actually knows history or if she has become so radicalized and brainwashed that she makes comments that are simply uninformed and bigoted.
During a recent episode of The View, Goldberg stated that Republicans want to bring back slavery. It was a stupid comment for a variety of reasons — the least of which being that it was the Republicans who were the ones who ended slavery, whereas Democrats fought to preserve it.
“Remember I said ages ago, you know, in their minds, they want to bring slavery back,” Goldberg said. “They’re OK with it because you see things change. One of the good things about the Supreme Court is you can fight to make sure you make stuff better. You don’t generally fight to make stuff worse.”
Goldberg was discussing the recent court decisions about abortion. Her comments about making “stuff worse” are inaccurate, like much of what she says. It is little more than politically charged, inflammatory, left-wing rhetoric. For as Goldberg may be in favor of ending the lives of children in the womb, millions of men and women throughout the country would argue the opposite. It may be a foreign concept to the wealthy left-wing elitist talk show host, but many people believe in protecting the lives of the unborn and would not, in any way, categorize doing such as making “stuff worse.”
The abortion issue aside, Goldberg’s statement about slavery is equally wrong and arguably even more offensive. It’s the kind of despicable bigotry that left-wing elitists continue to get away with in our country without being held accountable. She is the living embodiment of misinformation.
“Is Goldberg unaware that Democrats were the party of slavery and the Republican Party started to halt the spread of it? And then fighting for its abolition?” asked Larry Elder, an author, attorney, and the host of the We’ve Got a Country to Save podcast. “Who knows? After all, remember when Rep. Keith Ellison called ‘Donald Trump the worst Republican presidential candidate since George Wallace’ — only to be informed by a Republican panelist that Wallace was a ‘proud Democrat?’”
“Ellison said this on ABC’s George Stephanopoulos’s show, and Stephanopoulos said nothing,” Elder said. “Democrats have a facility for forgetting history or engaging in selective recall.”

Elder is correct. Selective recall and baseless propaganda to facilitate hate and divisiveness within the population are core tenets of the Left’s orthodoxy. Moreover, her comments are indicative of the radicalized indoctrination that plagues many of the nation’s contemporary left-wing ideologues. They are permitted to say such outlandish things without suffering any consequences. It’s one of the reasons why so many things repeated by those on the Left are categorically false. They habitually stand on their radicalized ignorance.
Republicans don’t want to bring back slavery. Leftists regularly weaponize slavery to try to influence public opinion and advance political agendas. Their entire existence is arguably predicated on fear and deception. Goldberg’s comments are just the latest example of that.
