With Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents breaking with modern tradition and actually arresting and deporting illegal immigrants under President Donald Trump‘s widely popular border control policies, we’ve seen the return of another particularly disgusting Nazi analogy: comparing ICE to the Gestapo.
Former Democratic Party vice presidential candidate and supposed normal man Tim Walz called ICE agents “Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo” during a commencement speech at the University of Minnesota law school, claiming they were “scooping folks up off the streets” who were being “disappeared.”

This same claim is spreading among the pro-riot lunatics online, with one person writing, “A lot of y’all would be snitching on Anne Frank and it shows,” just days after another post announcing that “You can always spot a Zionist.”
Even Jewish activists are in on the act. “It’s like the Gestapo,” actress Debra Messing posted on Instagram, sharing legal advice (in English and Spanish) and referring to the arrest of illegal immigrants as “cruel, negligent, and wrong.” This post was re-shared by fellow actress Mayim Bialik. Both Messing and Bialik have been outspoken in their opposition to the explosion of antisemitism following the Oct. 7 terrorist attack in Southern Israel.
Setting aside the Left’s fetish for comparing everything to Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, along with the complete disregard for the violence this incites, what does ICE have in common with the Gestapo? Nothing.
“Make no mistake, Democrat politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Wu of Boston, Tim Walz, and Mayor Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin said. “From comparisons to the modern-day Nazi gestapo to glorifying rioters, the violent rhetoric of these sanctuary politicians is beyond the pale. This violence against ICE must end.”
The Geheime Staatspolizei, abbreviated to Gestapo, was Nazi Germany’s secret police force created by Hermann Goring in 1933, tasked with brutally imposing the Nazi ideology upon Germany and Nazi-occupied Europe. This would include widespread violence, torture, and the deportation of Jews and other persecuted groups to ghettos, concentration camps, and death camps.
ICE is arresting, detaining, and deporting illegal immigrants back to their country of origin. The Gestapo arrested, detained, deported, tortured, brutalized, and murdered Jews, Romani, homosexuals, communists, dissidents, and critics regardless of their citizenship, sending millions of them to their deaths.
Mexico is not Auschwitz. Not only that, the fact that Jews, for example, were citizens of the country from which they were deported to death camps is not only an important detail that these nitwits seem to miss, but it’s the entire issue.
TRUMP’S DEPORTATION RECORD IS UNDERRATED
The battle against illegal immigration is centered on the laws of citizenship and sovereignty. The idea that any law enforcement officer who enforces these laws upon those who willingly defy the very notion of sovereignty is comparable to the Gestapo minimizes the crimes of Nazi Germany, bastardizes the notion of victimhood, and bastardizes the idea of citizenship.
Not only that, but it’s staggering that Jews such as Messing and Bialik can spend almost two years decrying the return of Nazi antisemitism under the banner of Hamas and then debase their respectability by, yet again, comparing Trump to Hitler. They should know better.
