Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is outperforming former President Donald Trump against President Joe Biden in the key swing state of Michigan, just three months before residents will select their GOP challenger for the 2024 presidential election.

The poll conducted by EPIC-MRA found that the former South Carolina governor is beating Biden in the Great Lakes State by 11 percentage points, 47%-36%, while Trump only leads by 5 points, 46%-41%.

BIDEN MIGHT BE DEMOCRATS' BIGGEST PROBLEM CONVINCING BLACK AND LATINO VOTERS NOT TO SUPPORT TRUMP

Both the Trump and Haley campaigns shared their reactions to the poll results with the Washington Examiner.

“Poll after poll show Nikki is the strongest challenger to Donald Trump and Joe Biden," Olivia Perez-Cubas, a spokeswoman for Nikki Haley's campaign, told the Washington Examiner in response to the poll results.

"Voters want a new generational, conservative leader who is focused on fixing the challenges facing America today — from the economy, the crisis at our southern border, and the growing threat of China. Republicans have a clear-cut winner in Nikki Haley,” she said.

“President Donald Trump is leading Joe Biden in every swing state,” Alex Pfeiffer, a spokesman for Make America Great Again Inc., told the Washington Examiner. “This Thanksgiving, when Americans are paying 30 percent more for their meal, will be a reminder to all voters why President Trump needs to be back in the White House.”

Women voters may be the largest reason for the polling swing, as the left-leaning voting bloc supports Biden over Trump in Michigan by 1 percentage point, 43%-42%, while they support Haley over Biden by 10 points, 46%-36%.

Another reason for Haley’s success may be that Michigan voters have a decidedly unfavorable view of both Biden and Trump but remain largely agnostic on Haley.

In the poll, 56% of respondents viewed Biden unfavorably, compared to 55% for Trump, yet 37% of respondents reported that they didn’t know who Haley was.

As Haley rises in GOP support, the Biden campaign has attacked her as a “MAGA extremist” for her anti-abortion stance, despite her refusal to commit to signing a hypothetical abortion ban when pressed by moderators in multiple presidential debates.

"Nikki Haley is no moderate — she's an anti-abortion MAGA extremist who wants to rip away women's freedoms just like she did when she was South Carolina governor,” Biden official Ammar Moussa posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Despite Haley’s recent performance in the polls, she remains in a battle with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for second place in the Republican primary race against Trump. The former president is by far the GOP front-runner, averaging over 60% of support, while DeSantis is averaging approximately 13% and Haley is just under 10%.
