San Francisco 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall was reportedly shot in Union Square in San Francisco on Saturday during an attempted robbery.
Pearsall is in stable condition and the suspect has been arrested, according to Gia Vang of NBC Bay Area.
Pearsall, a wide receiver, was picked 31st in the 2024 NFL Draft by the 49ers and was slated to make his NFL debut on Sept. 9 against the New York Jets. However, his status for that game was already unclear due to a shoulder injury he suffered, which caused him to miss the 49ers’ preseason games. He returned to practice this week.
Teammate and fellow wide receiver Deebo Samuel posted an update on Pearsall’s condition on X, saying, “He’s good. Thank god!!!!”
Union Square is the shopping, hotel, and theater district in San Francisco, California.
