As the Department of Justice under President Joe Biden continues to jail concentration camp survivors for protesting abortion, New York Attorney General Letitia James is joining the lawfare campaign by suing crisis pregnancy centers that administer abortion pill reversals.
On Monday, James sued 11 crisis pregnancy centers, claiming that abortions are irreversible and that the centers “distort the evidence and mislead New Yorkers” by providing high doses of progesterone to women who wish to undo the effects of the abortion drug mifepristone.
To address this alleged distortion of evidence, James wants a state court to levy heavy fines and issue an order that prohibits these crisis pregnancy centers from offering or advertising abortion reversals.
In a statement, the Thomas More Society, which represents the crisis pregnancy centers, accused James of engaging in lawfare and noted that none of the organizations that have been sued are located in Manhattan, where the lawsuit was filed. It also noted that abortion pill reversal is a safe and effective treatment despite James’s claims.
“The administration of supplemental progesterone, which is the heart of the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol, has been used for decades to help pregnant women at serious risk for miscarriage,” it said. “And thousands of pregnant women, at risk of miscarriage because of taking the abortion pill, were able to have healthy babies because of the timely application of supplemental progesterone through the Reversal protocol.”
The lawsuit is part of a larger attempt by Democratic state officials to prevent pregnancy centers from administering abortion reversals. In Colorado, a federal judge blocked a state law from going into effect last year that would have banned abortion reversal in the state. Legal efforts are also underway in California to block abortion reversals there.

As the Thomas More Society attorneys noted, the abortion pill reversal, achieved through supplemental progesterone, is not a deceptive or dangerous practice. It has been regularly used to help pregnant women deliver healthy babies. James’s lawsuit is not a defense of vulnerable women. Rather, it is a deliberate attempt to punish the pro-life movement for daring to combat abortion.
If there is any justice in New York, this lawsuit will be quickly dismissed. But this malicious lawfare campaign will continue until officials such as James are punished for their political persecutions. Only then will justice be achieved.
