NextImg:New evidence that Biden's war on fossil fuels will destroy communities

President Joe Biden , his policy advisers, and the majority of Democratic senators and representatives are hurrying to destroy careers, lives, and whole communities with their blind rush to a zero carbon emissions economy .

In a new National Bureau of Economic Research paper , economists from the U.S. Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco state unequivocally that the transition away from fossil fuels presents "significant risks for communities historically built around the fossil fuel industry." The researchers examine the decline of communities in the Appalachian coal region to project what will happen to large geographies of the nation in the headlong rush to a carbon-free economy.

BIDEN'S ILLEGAL MOVE TO BAN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

What they found is striking.

In the Appalachian coal regions, unemployment rose, credit scores fell, third-party collections increased, and bankruptcy rates increased. The researchers found that the negative effects were not confined to people who lost jobs in the coal industry. Whole communities suffered economic and social loss. The researchers state that "people living in fossil fuel extraction regions are likely to experience declines in financial well-being" from the transition to a carbon-free economy.

This research is consistent with earlier studies conducted by professor Gordon Hanson of Harvard University. Hanson said the green energy transition would "profoundly disrupt" whole communities dedicated to the extraction of fossil fuels. He explained that the fossil fuel industry — oil, gas, and coal — pays relatively high wages to men and women without college degrees. Hanson said the policies of the Biden administration would cause unemployment to increase and earnings to fall for less educated workers over the course of "decades," not just years.

Hanson further highlighted what should be obvious to Biden and Democratic elites: Affected communities will see lower family formation, higher out-of-wedlock births, more children living in relative poverty, and higher rates of alcohol and drug addiction with the attendant increase in early mortality. Biden’s rush to a green economy is creating a new culture of poverty embedded in the fossil fuels regions of the United States. Importantly, Hanson explained that retraining and relocation programs historically have poor success rates among blue-collar workers.

So why is Biden doing this?

The question is especially pertinent because regardless of what the U.S. accomplishes in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, global emissions will continue to increase. The large, highly populated countries of Asia — China, India, and Indonesia — continue to spurt out new coal-fired power plants . The only logical conclusion is that Democratic elites do not care about the common people nearly as much as they do about kneeling before the hysterical altar of global warming.

But the consequences are clear. Biden and Democrats are the wolf at the door of fossil fuels extraction communities.
