New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick applauded global superstar Taylor Swift for her May performance in the pouring rain at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
“It was pretty impressive. She’s tough, man. She just stood out there and played right through it,” Belichick said, recalling the concert on The Greg Hill Show on Monday morning.

Belichick pointed to country singer Luke Combs canceling his show 15 songs into his set due to severe weather when he stopped at Gillette Stadium later on during the summer.
"They gave Luke a hard time because they pulled the plug on him — that was lightning, I understand that,” Belichick said. “When there’s lightning in the area, we head off the field, too, so I can’t really — I think he could blast through a rainstorm. He’s a pretty tough guy."
The Eras Tour stopped in Massachusetts for three shows earlier this year, and Swift played through her 3 1/2-hour set in heavy rain.
“This has clearly broken my keyboard. It was literally underwater — I don't know how any of the instruments were working last night,” Swift said during her set before playing “Red” on guitar instead of piano.

When asked if he was "officially" a "Swiftie," the term for Swift’s fans, Belichick said, “I don’t know about that. I don’t know what officially is.”
Nevertheless, the Patriots' top coach praised her perseverance and said he was a fan of "You Need to Calm Down" from Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover.

"Well, look, I'm definitely on the, 'You Gotta Calm Down,'” Belichick said. “That’s pretty good, like, you gotta calm down. There’s a lot of times when that’s very appropriate. You just gotta calm down.”
