Food processing company Nestle issued a voluntary recall to customers for their cookie bars, which could contain wood fragments.

The recall is related to two batches of the company's chocolate chip cookie dough "break and bake" products that weigh in at 16.5 ounces, which were produced on April 24 and 25. Anyone who purchased this item with batch codes 311457531K and 311557534K within the United States should return this product to their retailer, where they can get either a replacement or refund, according to a press release.

SOCIAL SECURITY UPDATE: DIRECT PAYMENT WORTH UP TO $4,555 GOES OUT TO MILLIONS IN TWO DAYS

No illnesses or injuries have been reported, but the company is issuing this recall out of an abundance of caution. The company is working with the Food and Drug Administration on this recall.

Consumers should know that only the chocolate chip cookie dough bars are affected by this recall. All other Nestle products, including any products relating to cookie dough, are fine to consume.

Additional questions can be answered by contacting Nestle USA at 800-681-1678.

Recalls on food products over health concerns happened earlier this year, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the FDA, encouraged people to check their freezers for frozen strawberries that were recently purchased. Between Nov. 24, 2022, and April 12, nine outbreak-associated cases of hepatitis A were reported.

The CDC interviewed the nine ill people, who answered questions about the foods they ate in the two to seven weeks before they became sick. All nine who were interviewed reported eating frozen organic strawberries.
