NASCAR was forced to cancel the heat races for its All-Star Race on Saturday due to heavy rain in North Carolina.

Showers and lightning at the North Wilkesboro Speedway interrupted the Wright Brand 250 truck race during the 81st lap of 250. All racers stopped and evacuated the 0.625-mile track before the showers became an outright downpour, forcing the cancelation of both 60-lap qualifying heats for the All-Star Race.

However, the All-Star Race time will still be 8 p.m. Sunday, and the All-Star Open event will begin at 5:30 p.m. This lineup will be based on points earned up until this point, putting Joey Logano of Team Penske in the pole position, with Brad Keselowski next. Christopher Bell is third in line, followed by Daniel Suárez and Chris Buescher in the top five.

Because of the inclement weather, the Craftsman Truck Series qualifying heats also got canceled, so the lineup will be based on series points. Ahead of the canceled race, Christian Eckes led in points, landing him in first place.

A flash flood warning was active in the area through 8 p.m. Saturday.
