Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) urged President Joe Biden “to tell the American people the truth” that the House Republicans' impeachment inquiry into him is becoming more likely.

“I have a message for Joe Biden this morning: We're coming for you, and if you will not answer the questions for the American people, the Oversight Committee will answer them for you with regards to the investigation we're going to be conducting,” Mace said on Fox News Monday morning.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has said an impeachment inquiry will be the next step if the Biden family fails to provide requested documents the Republicans want for their investigations, following the GOP-led inquiry into Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings.

“Why does Joe Biden avoid the questions? And when he does answer them, he's lying to the American people,” Mace said. “And I think that the American people just deserve the truth and nothing but the truth.”

Mace insisted on speaking to former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who over the weekend claimed Biden was behind his removal in March 2016.

Shokin claimed he was fired because he “was investigating Burisma,” accusing the then-vice president and his son Hunter of taking bribes in an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade. Shokin was fired while bringing criminal proceedings against the CEO of Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company of which Hunter Biden was on the board.

“I would like to see evidence that [Shokin] has, aside from Joe Biden saying on a microphone several years ago, bragging about firing Shokin,” Mace said. “I would like to see if he does have any evidence of this. Because every time Joe Biden has answered this question, he's lied about it.”

The White House denied that Biden was behind Shokin's removal, claiming Shokin was responsible for his own firing through his corrupt office, attacking Fox News for giving airtime to "false claims."

"For years, these false claims have been debunked, and no matter how much air time Fox gives them, they will remain false," White House spokesman Ian Sams said in a statement. "Fox is giving a platform for these lies to a former Ukrainian prosecutor general whose office his own deputy called ‘a hotbed of corruption,’ drawing demands for reform not only from then-Vice President Biden but also from U.S. diplomats, international partners, and Republican senators like Ron Johnson."

Mace pushed for access to Biden family members' bank records that allegedly show payments received from foreign companies. The Treasury Department showed House Republicans some financial records earlier this year, alleging they saw millions in payments to members of the Biden family from foreign entities, but those documents cannot be shared with the public.

Mace said the Biden’s received “over $50 million, $17 million from Ukraine alone,” adding that the amount will increase when “Romania, China, Russia” are included.
