MSNBC is making another shake-up in its television lineup, this time canceling The Mehdi Hasan Show.

The show, named after its host, is being canceled to allow Ayman Mohyeldin’s show on the weekend to expand to two hours. Hasan, meanwhile, will remain with MSNBC and work as an on-camera analyst and fill-in host, according to Semafor.

Additionally, the network is also launching a program titled The Weekend, which will air on Saturday and Sunday mornings for two hours starting Jan. 13. Alicia Menendez, Symone Sanders-Townsend, and Michael Steele will host the morning show, according to the Hill.

The latest shake-up was made “to better position ourselves as we head into the presidential election,” MSNBC President Rashida Jones told staff on Thursday.

MSNBC made changes to its weekday lineup in September, making former White House press secretary Jen Psaki one of its weeknight hosts at the 8 p.m. time frame. Psaki was already a part of the network with her weekend show Inside with Jen Psaki.

The 8 p.m. slot was previously filled by MSNBC host Chris Hayes’s All In, which featured a rotation of hosts filling in on Monday nights over the past year. The rotation was needed while Hayes worked on personal projects, including a podcast and a book.
