Boxer Mike Tyson has a new fight date against Jake Paul after he announced he needed to postpone their bout to receive medical treatment.
Netflix will stream the live event on Nov. 15. Their original date was July 20, but due to Tyson’s ulcer diagnosis, he needed more time to recover. Before the fight, he will have a birthday, making him 58 by the time he fights Paul, 27.
“New date, same place, same fate,” Paul posted on X.
This new date rubs up against the aftermath of the 2024 presidential election and also the NFL season.
“Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T Stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season,” Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement.
Paul admitted he would have to change his “heavyweight eating” diet to compete in the same category as Tyson. All heavyweight boxers must be over 200 pounds in order to compete. There is no maximum weight.

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” Tyson said in a statement. “I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”
The rest of the event will include a match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. Two other matches slated for the original date included Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. versus Darren Till and Floyd Schofield versus Ashton Sylve. Those four have not confirmed whether they will compete on the new date.
