Ex-first lady Melania Trump, the wife of former President Donald Trump, "wouldn't be surprised" that her husband had to take a mug shot, according to multiple sources.

A Trump family source told People that Melania Trump is taking his many legal troubles as they come, and that attitude has not changed for Donald Trump's latest indictment in Fulton County, Georgia, and the release of his mug shot — the first one he has taken despite three other legal cases.

"Melania knows who her husband is, and while she deplores the indictments as much as her husband, she wouldn’t be surprised by his mug shot or make comments about it,” the family source told People.

Another source told the outlet that Melania Trump has multiple things to focus on other than what Donald Trump is doing.

"Melania is busy with her son and family and she pays only so much attention to these issues which captivate the media,” a New York source said. “Of course, these criminal charges are embarrassing to Melania and to Donald, but life goes on and each reacts to stress in different ways.”

His mug shot reportedly does not upset Melania Trump "any more than anything else that has happened with Donald and his legal cases." The former president was booked into Fulton County Jail on Thursday on sweeping charges related to alleged efforts to overturn Georgia's 2020 election results.

Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants were named in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's indictment. All 19 defendants will be arraigned on Sept. 6, with the former president's arraignment beginning at 9:30 a.m. The other arraignments, including one for former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, will follow in 15-minute increments.

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and his legal counsel argued on Monday for hours before a federal judge asking him to move his case from state to federal court. U.S. District Judge Steve Jones promised a ruling as soon as possible.

Stephanie Grisham, Melania Trump's former chief of staff, testified in September 2022 that the former first lady "didn't trust" Meadows. Melania Trump also was wary of Giuliani and lawyers Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis, who were talking with Donald Trump during the 2020 election.
