Megyn Kelly shared that she and former President Donald Trump have seemingly made peace after a contentious feud following a 2015 GOP debate that featured Kelly as moderator asking Trump about comments that were degrading women.
On Monday, Kelly shared during her SiriusXM show The Megyn Kelly Show that she had a private conversation with Trump at the Turning Point Action conference over the weekend. She explained that it was “frankly great to see him” and that “he could not have been nicer.”

“You know, we've had our ups and downs — it's fair to say. To me, there was a lesson in that kind moment between the two of us. And it was that even as a journalist, if you can take your own ego out of it,” Kelly said, “if you can be quick to sort of get past these confrontations and these negative experiences, you can open up such possibility for yourself, you can open up a field of wellness, of positivity, of good relationships.”
“I just think it's a testament to how people can change and people can rebuild relationships and people can move forward in a positive way,” she added.
Kelly, who was working for Fox News at the time of the 2015 debate, posed her question to Trump, beginning to say, “One of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don't use a politician's filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular when it comes to women. You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals—”
Trump cut her off and quipped that it was “only Rosie O’Donnell.” He would go on to defend the appropriateness of voting him for the presidency, adding that “the big problem this country has is being politically correct.”
While reflecting on the current state of her relationship with Trump on Monday, Kelly said she felt the feelings of making amends were reciprocated when she heard Trump tell the Turning Point Action crowd on Saturday that she was “great” and not for him but for the country's sake, adding that Kelly “wants our country to survive.”
Kelly added that while Trump was “extremely popular” at the Turning Point Action event, she is sure that no matter who the GOP nominee becomes, they will be a better choice than a candidate from the Left.

“I’ve made pretty clear I don't see how you can vote for somebody on the other side who can't say what a woman is, right, who's trying to indoctrinate our children in backwards racial thinking, who wants children with body parts cut off before they hit age 18,” Kelly said. “How can you vote for that? So it could be Donald Trump, could be Ron DeSantis, could be Tim Scott, could be Nikki Haley, all these people offering a vision that is much more clear headed and positive for our country than what we're seeing right now in the Left.”
She also noted that, based on her conversation with Trump, she “wouldn’t bet on” him attending at least the first GOP debate.
