Media personality Megyn Kelly blasted Jen Psaki’s attempt at becoming a cable news personality, calling her career trajectory a “downward escalator.”

During The Megyn Kelly Show on SiriusXM, Kelly mocked the ratings decline of Psaki’s MSNBC show Inside with Jen Psaki in recent weeks, showing a near 300,000 decline in viewership.

“Literally, it's like a downward escalator, the overall and the demo off a cliff," Kelly said. "No one wants to watch Jen Psaki — I mean, no one.”

After debuting with an increase in numbers for MSNBC, Psaki’s show ranks as the network’s 12th most popular show.

“And so she now is trying to make herself into a star, and she's failing because she has no actual talent in this field,” Kelly said, referencing Psaki’s attempt at transitioning from being the White House press secretary to a cable news host. “She had more talent being a professional spinner behind the lectern than she does being a different kind of professional spinner behind the MSNBC mic.”

Kelly also blasted the idea that many people leave Capitol Hill with the idea of heading to cable news fame.

“This is so true of all these people that work at the White House Press Office,” Kelly said. “What they really want is to be a cable news star. And so they lay the foundation while they're over there trying to make themselves into a national personality. What they really want is the job of the people they watch on prime time every day. They're envious. It's true of half of Congress, too. It's pathetic.”
