Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was in Detroit on Saturday when he referenced musician Taylor Swift during a speech.

Gaetz predicted that President Joe Biden will lose his reelection bid in November during a Turning Point USA event. Biden will likely face off against former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.

“Taylor Swift has been teaching us all about our eras, and I think America’s ‘Joe Biden era’ is about to end,” Gaetz said. “We must usher in a new era — one where we seal the border, cut spending, end the wars, honor police, celebrate our veterans, and rebuild this great nation’s hope. So don’t miss the era of great American rejuvenation.”

The Florida representative mocked the Transportation Department for struggling to provide chargers as it promotes electric vehicles under the Biden’s administration promises. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was recently on Face the Nation defending the administration for only building seven or eight charging stations over two years with $7.5 billion on hand. Gaetz said the lack of chargers leaves EV drivers rushing to them with “the thirst of Hunter Biden on his way to go get a crack pipe” as he joked that he does that with his cellphone charger.

Biden’s second-born son has dealt with drug addiction. Earlier this week, he was convicted of lying on a federal form about his drug use to purchase a revolver, submitting a false statement into a federal record, and unlawfully possessing the firearm for 11 days. While he has yet to be sentenced, his father promised he will not pardon him.

Trump has spoken at several Turning Point USA events this year, with the most recent one earlier this month in Arizona. The presidential candidate also spent some time earlier Saturday campaigning at a local black church in a community roundtable in Detroit.
