Maryanne Trump Barry, the elder sister of former President Donald Trump, died at 86, according to a Monday report.

Barry, a former federal judge, was discovered in her New York City apartment around 4 a.m. after emergency officials responded to a report of a cardiac arrest.

No foul play or trauma is suspected in her death, the report noted.

The former judge served on the bench as a senior judge for the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals until her 2019 retirement.

Appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan, Barry moved to her seat on the 3rd Circuit after a 1999 appointment by then-President Bill Clinton.

An investigation into alleged judicial misconduct stemming from fraudulent tax and financial transactions by Fred Trump, her father, and her family led to Barry's retirement in 2019.

The investigation was closed without a conclusion upon her retirement.

Barry was critical of her brother while he was in office.

"All he wants to do is appeal to his base," Barry said in a reported 2020 conversation. "He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean, my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people, not do this."

The pair's relationship had reportedly been on the mend.
