Marsha Blackburn praises Trump’s strength on foreign policy already on display - Washington Examiner

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) noted that world leaders are bending the knee to the strength of President-elect Donald Trump long before his inauguration.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is fresh from a trip to Florida to meet Trump after he floated the idea of tariffs against Canada. As the United States’s neighbor to the north, Canada is seeking to cap its immigration but has been lacking in securing its border. Trump suggested that if Canada’s border security doesn’t improve, he could compel compliance with suggested tariffs.
BIDEN TO USE LAME-DUCK SESSION TO ‘TRUMP-PROOF’ LEGACY
“What you’re going to see is basically the global diplomacy of rock, paper, scissors. It is strength, weakness, appeasement. And strength wins. They know Donald Trump is a strong leader,” Blackburn explained. “That’s why you saw Justin Trudeau fly to Palm Beach to meet with President Trump.”
Blackburn had crafted a bill that would free local law enforcement to perform the tasks of Homeland Security, which were handcuffed by the Biden administration. The Tennessee senator even included reimbursements to these local agencies for dealing with immigrants in their respective states. However, the Republican Party did not have the majority in the Senate, which stopped it from progressing.

“The American people have spoken. They want the border secure; they want the fentanyl, the drug trafficking, the human trafficking, the sex trafficking, the gangs, and the crime to end,” Blackburn said. “They know they can depend on President Trump to do that.”
Trump tapped former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan to be his border czar. Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) will also serve as Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary.
