Actor Mark Wahlberg said he wants to help bring job growth to Las Vegas, calling the area “all about faith and family.”

“It has so much to offer, but I wanted to come with something to offer myself,” Wahlberg told KVVU of the Las Vegas area, noting his entrepreneurial ideas involve the film industry and a factory for apparel. “Creating other opportunity and jobs. I want to enrich the community and be a part of something.”

While Wahlberg has continued to create films, he also started F45 Training and the restaurant chain Wahlburgers.

“I’ve always been trying to figure things out. I’ve never minded going and doing the work," he said. "I want to create something. I want to build brands. I want to create opportunity and pass it on to my family. I want to create jobs for other people. And I want to inspire other people growing up in situations like mine who are feeling like, ‘Well, it’s not really possible,’ but anything is possible. You’d be surprised.”

Wahlberg recently partnered with Mexican PGA golfer Abraham Ancer and entrepreneur Aron Marquez to create a line of tequila called Flecha Azul.

“Those guys have overcome so much adversity,” Wahlberg said. “It’s amazing!”

The Father Stu star said he is not just putting his name on brands and hoping they work. He said he is intentionally investing his own money and time into products to ensure quality is maintained.

“Quality is first, second, and third,” he noted. “The name can get somebody in the door, but it’s the experience and the offering that keeps you coming back.”

Wahlberg said he is very happy since moving his family from California to the area.

“Vegas is so generous. I’ve been welcomed with open arms. I absolutely love it here. And, you know, I think people are excited about the idea of new industry being created,” Wahlberg added. “I think when people hear Las Vegas, they think of the Strip and casinos, which is fine, but 20 minutes away, it’s one of the most amazing communities that I’ve ever been a part of.”

“It’s all about faith and family. It’s thriving,” he continued. “The kids are doing fantastic. It’s very much about family here, which I love.”
