Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is no longer a member of the House Freedom Caucus after members voted to oust her before the July 4 recess, Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) told reporters on Thursday.

Harris, who is a member of the caucus's executive board, told reporters Thursday that it voted “to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus for some of the things she’s done,” according to Politico.

A spokesperson for Greene did not respond to a request for comment, while a Freedom Caucus spokesperson said, “HFC does not comment on membership or internal processes.”

Tensions between Greene and the conservative caucus have been building for a while and came to a head after it was reported she called fellow Freedom Caucus member Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) a “little b****” on the House floor. Greene confirmed to the Washington Examiner that she did, in fact, make that remark to Boebert.

Without sharing how she voted, a spokesperson for Boebert said in a statement, “There was nothing personal about Congresswoman Boebert’s vote regarding MTG’s membership status in the House Freedom Caucus.”

Members of the caucus have also complained about Greene’s past votes, especially her support for the debt ceiling legislation.

The vote to oust Greene, the first time the Freedom Caucus has ousted a member from its ranks, took place on June 23, according to Politico.
