Marianne Williamson, a progressive Democrat who ran for president in 2020, confirmed that she plans to run for president in 2024, becoming the first Democrat to publicly confirm her intent enter the race.

Williamson said on Thursday that she would be facing President Joe Biden in the 2024 Democratic Primaries, if the president runs for re-election.

“I wouldn’t be running for president if I didn’t believe I could contribute to harnessing the collective sensibility that I feel is our greatest hope at this time,” Williamson told the Medill News Service.

Williamson is planning to formally launch her campaign on March 4 at 2 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
