NextImg:Marianne Williamson blasts DNC for doing everything to 'make it easier' for Biden

Bestselling self-help author Marianne Williamson accused the Democratic National Committee of doing President Joe Biden's bidding in the 2024 presidential primary.

"I am still getting some patronizing treatment and as we know, the DNC has said that there will be no debates. And they are clearly doing what they can to make it easier for the President to win the nomination," Williamson told Fox News.

"But I'm out there and I have another opponent who is out there. The American people are waking up," she added.

Williamson and environmental lawyer Robert Kennedy Jr. have breached double digits in polls — higher margins than most 2024 Republican hopefuls have garnered in their primary, but still trail Biden by wide margins. The DNC has declined to organize primary debates.

Oftentimes incumbent presidential contenders don't partake in primary debates. Former President Donald Trump, for instance, did not when he vied for a second term in 2020. However, Williamson and Kennedy Jr. have cried foul, decrying the process for being unfair.

"It's not just that I deserve to have a chance to get my message out there. I think the American people deserve to hear whoever's running and what they have to say," Williamson added.

Biden formally announced his reelection bid last month and has barely acknowledged his primary foes. Notably, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre mocked Williamson. She has tacked to Biden's left and champions a "moral economy."

"The moral economy to me is one which puts people before short-term profits for huge corporate entities," Williamson said. "I think that the humanitarian values that are at the core of our Declaration of Independence should be our guiding and governing principle and not necessarily economic values that are divorced from content or ethics."
